(Born 1848- Died 1924)
Samri called himself The White Mahatma, and it was Samri Baldwin who created the mentalism act in which unspoken audience questions are answered by the mystic performer. He coined the phrase "somnomency" or trance-talking, to describe his act. Though Baldwin was careful to declare himself a magician and not a medium, he was nonetheless regarded as a psychic.
